Donald Gillispie said the fire started in a suite of the building about 6:13 a.m., and was just about out when firefighters arrived. The building at 5115 Bernard Drive houses sales and support personnel for the national computer manufacturer.
Heat and flames damaged about one-sixth of the building, and smoke that drifted throughout may have caused $75,000-$100,000 in damage, not including any damage done to computers.
Gillispie said the fire had some similarities to a small blaze that broke out about a month ago in a hallway about three doors down from Monday's fire.
