OBIT COLEMAN, RUBY B.

COLEMAN, Ruby B., 71, of Blacksburg, died Monday, June 7, 1993, at Montgomery Regional Hospital, after a long illness. She was the widow of Luther S. Coleman Sr. She was born on February 27, 1922, in Hinton, W.Va., to the late William H. and Vida Wenger Bennett. She was a charter member of the original Blacksburg Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by six brothers, and two sisters. Surviving are one daughter, Ruby Jane Thomasson, Minneapolis, Minn.; two sons, Luther Coleman Jr., Elizabethton, Tenn., Edward (Bill) C. Coleman Sr., Newport; also seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg, with Minister Jim Belcher officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sherry Memorial Christian Church, C.W.F., Mountain Lake Road, Newport, Va. 24128. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home, all other times at the home of Ed and Nelva Coleman, Newport. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
