The Board of Supervisors held a public hearing Tuesday to get nominees for the seat.
Nobody showed up to nominate anybody.
R.T. DuPuis, chairman of the Board of Supervisors representing the district from which the appointment is to be made, asked if there was any objection to Pendleton being reappointed.
There was none, but County Administrator Billy Branson said the hearing would have to be held again if nobody proposed a nominee.
James E. "Eddie" Hagee, a former supervisor on hand to complain about a road problem and trash pickup costs, said he did not live in Pendleton's district but felt that Pendleton had done a good job and probably deserved reappointment.
Branson said that met the hearing requirement. The supervisors will formally appoint the School Board member at their next meeting. - Southwest bureau
