RU HIGHLAND CONFERENCE CHANGE

Radford University's Appalachian Studies Program has announced a change in its Highland Summer Conference. Gloria Houston will be replaced by authors Jo Carson and Jeff Daniel Marion as instructors for the first session.

Jo Carson, who has been a commentator on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered," and has written poems, plays, short stories and essays, will give a public reading Tuesday.

Poet Jeff Daniel Marion, whose works have appeared in numerous anthologies, is the author of four books, including a children's book, "Hello, Crow."

He will read from his works June 17.

Both readings begin at 7:30 p.m. in Heth Hall's Highland Room.

Admission is free, and receptions for the authors will follow.
