OBIT BRINKLEY, WILLIAM H.
BRINKLEY, William H., 66, of Roanoke, died Monday, June 7, 1993, in the
V.A. Medical Center, Salem. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Surviving
are his wife, Charlsie A. Brinkley, Roanoke; two daughters, Brenda B. Abdo,
Apopka, Fla., Lisa B. Rhodes, Jupiter, Fla.; six grandchildren; sister,
Genevieve B. Hogewood, Falmouth, Va.; five brothers, Staley B. Brinkley, North
Palm Beach, Fla., Charles R. Brinkley, Virginia Beach, Frank H. Brinkley,
Overland Park, Kan., Rev. James C. Brinkley, Hagerstown, Md., John T.
Brinkley, Chesapeake, Va.; sister, Miriam M. Mandrell, Arnold, Md.; and a
number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Oakey's South
Chapel 11 a.m. Thursday, with Pastor Walter Wood officiating. Interment will
follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests
donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 554, Roanoke, VA
24003. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Oakey's South Chapel.
