OBIT MURRAY, SADIE MARIE

MURRAY, Sadie Marie, ("Momma Gay"), of Roanoke, died at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Wednesday, June 9, 1993. She was the widow of Abner Murray and was a lifelong member of St. Elias Catholic Church. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Doris M. and Jack A. Jacobs, Salem; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph (Buzzoo) and Anna Murray, Roanoke; four grandchildren and spouses, Jennifer and Wayne Ayers, Roanoke, Stephen Jacobs and fiancee, Celene Surface, Va. Beach, Fred and Connie Jacobs, Salem, Joseph (Nino) Murray, Roanoke; great-grandson, Nicholas Stephen Jacobs II, Salem; sister, Mrs. Josephine A. Thomas, Roanoke; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at St. Elias Catholic Church, 11 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Msgr. Assad Awad. Burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery. A prayer service will be conducted from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Friends may call Oakey's Roanoke Chapel after noon Thursday.
