OBIT BOWER, OAKLEY G.

BOWER, Oakley G., 76, of Christiansburg, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 1993, at his home. He was retired from the Radford Army Ammunition Plant, where he was employed for 32 years. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Lucille W. Bower, Christiansburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Phillip Shrewsbury, Christiansburg; grandchildren, Linda and Ross Halket, Woodbridge; Jim and Debbie Akers, Richmond; Tonya Shrewsbury, Christiansburg; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Guy Bower, Fred Bower, both of Floyd; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 11, from the Red Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, conducted by the Rev. Elbert Lee Naff, with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
