Lt. Curtis Bailey said authorities have no reason to suspect foul play in the disappearance of the Rev. Paul Freeman, 85, and his wife, Rebecca, 76. But neither do they think the couple may have just gone to visit someone unexpectedly.
Both had disabilities, and the medicine each usually takes was still at their home, Bailey said. Police have contacted everyone that family members thought the couple could have visited.
The Freemans were last seen about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday loading groceries into their 1981 four-door Ford Granada, which is white with a maroon top. Its license number is HP23844.
Police got involved when the situation was first reported early Wednesday morning. Helicopters have been used to hunt for the couple's car, and police have been interviewing family members.
"Right now we're just running down all the leads," Bailey said. Anyone who has seen the couple since Tuesday afternoon should call the state police.
