OBIT-ROYER, MARVIN C.

ROYER, Marvin C., 88, of Roanoke, died Thursday, June 10, 1993. He was born in Rockingham County and was retired from Norfolk & Western Railway with 47 years of service. He was a member of Raleigh Court United Methodist Church, Taylor Lodge #23 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Bodies, and the Kazim Shrine Temple and was a life member of the Elks Lodge #197. He was predeceased by his brother, Raymond C. Royer. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bernadine M. Royer, Roanoke; a sister, Helen Royer; a brother-in-law, Emerson Mays, and wife, Marguerite, all of Chillicothe, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Marceline Smith and husband Richard, Mooresville, N.C. A funeral service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with the Dr. Gregory L. Adkins officiating. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olivet Cemetery, McGaheysville. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
