The Highlanders' Jason Anderson was named co-player of the year, sharing the honor with Lebanon's Brian Summers, and Larry Wood was named coach of the year.
Anderson was named to the All-Region C first team as a pitcher. The junior compiled a 9-1 record and a 0.91 ERA, striking out 125 in 69 innings. He also batted .491 as a first baseman when he wasn't pitching.
Anderson was joined on the first team by teammates Joey Hutton, a junior catcher, and Trevor Willis, a senior second baseman. Glenvar's Rob Robinson was an honorable-mention selection.
Wood has guided the Highlanders to a 14-4-1 record and the Pioneer District championship. Glenvar plays a first-round game in the Group A state tournament agains Honaker at 1 p.m. Saturday at Salem High School.

Two North Cross players have been named to the Virginia Independent Schools Baseball Association All-State team.
Ryan Shaver earned a spot on the first team as a catcher. The senior batted .500 for the Raiders during the regular season.
Aaron Lange, a senior third baseman, was an honorable-mention choice. He hit .513 for North Cross.
