LIMBAUGH'S RATINGS STILL RIDING HIGH

REGARDING Melanie Hatter's June 1 article ("Computer jock fills in for disc jockeys at WYMY"):

I request that facts be presented correctly, when referring to WFIR or Lite 95 FM.

Recently, Ms. Hatter stated that Rush Limbaugh had reached his ratings peak. Obviously, she did not research the subject or she would have known that Limbaugh's popularity, according to information provided by E. I. B. (Limbaugh's network), increased by 78 percent in the past year.

Also, in a recent column, the perception was that WFIR had lost Larry King. We did not. We chose not to air him after his move to daytime radio. In the past couple months of his all-night show, we received several calls and comments from listeners asking us to please take him off the air. They stated that he was rude and evidently did little show preparation. We feel the Larry King Show is only as good as his guests. TERRY GIBBONS General Manager WFIR/Lite 95 FM ROANOKE
