WTOB EXAMINES POLISH HISTORY

WTOB, Channel 2, the town's public and government cable access channel, offers a chance to catch up on European history this week. At 7:30 p.m.

Monday, tune in for "Poland: A History of 1,000 Years." This program, locally produced by I.C. Pogonowski, takes a look at both history and current events in Poland.

Then, at 8:30, watch "Germany: From Partition to Unity." The program covers the fall of the Berlin Wall and the process of German east-west reunification.

Tuesday at 7 p.m., it's "Jersey Shore Getaway," a bicycle trek for the American Lung Association, produced locally by Jeff Balogh.

That's followed at 7:30 p.m. by a re-broadcast of the June 8 Blacksburg Town Council meeting.

"Land Use in the New River Valley: The Year 2010" airs Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

This is a public forum sponsored by the Greater Blacksburg Chamber of Commerce.

Thursday at 7 p.m., check out the "Stompfest Stepshow Competition," where fraternities and sororities from around the region compete in a winner-take-all step show at North Carolina State University.

The program was locally produced by Marshall Johnson.
