In imposing Terry's sentence, U.S. District Judge Robert J. Ward said the founder of Operation Rescue "demonstrated no remorse, no contrition, no respect for the law," during his appeal for leniency.
In presentencing remarks filled with biblical references, Terry, 34, flaunted his defiance by reveling in the July 14, 1992, incident in which one of his supporters thrust an aborted fetus at Clinton despite a federal court order that banned his group carrying out such a protest.
For instigating the act, Terry was convicted of civil contempt, a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in prison.
