Christina Lynn Loyd and Matthew Raymond Saunders were married June 5, 1993,
in a garden wedding at the home of the bride with Bishop Wayne Ayers
officiating. The reception was also held at the home. The maid of honor was
Kristen Sovine, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Debbie Saunders,
sister-in-law of groom, Marcie Saunders sister of groom, Traci Huntley and
Tammy Freeman, friends of bride. Alexandra Noghaven of Miami, Fla., cousin of
bride, was the flowergirl. The best man was Michael Roger Saunders, father of
the groom. Ushers were Michael Roger Saunders II, Mark Robert Saunders and
Russell Saunders, brothers of groom, and Marvin Lynn Loyd, Jr., brother of
bride. Ringbearer was Alan Mills, cousin of bride. Guestbook attendants were
James and Timothy Mills, cousins of bride. Carolyn Hughes, special friend of
bride, directed the wedding. The bride is the daughter of Marvin and Evelyn
Loyd of Salem. She is a graduate of Glenvar High School and Virginia Western
Comm. College. She is employed by Allstate Ins. The groom is the son of
Michael and Jean Saunders of Smith Mountain Lake. He is a graduate of Cave
Spring High School and is employed by Allstate Ins. The newlyweds will live in
Salem after a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach.
