YELTSIN DECREES CONTROLS ON LIQUOR BUSINESSES

President Boris Yeltsin has signed a decree imposing tight controls on Russia's lucrative, unregulated liquor businesses, the ITAR-Tass news agency said Saturday.

The order apparently was aimed at peddlers who sell beer, wine and liquor from sidewalk kiosks. - Associated Press
