JEFF BURTON EDGES BROTHER FOR GN VICTORY

Jeff Burton held off older brother Ward to win the Carolina Pride 250 Busch Grand National race Saturday in the first 1-2 finish by siblings in the 11-year history of the NASCAR series.

Jeff Burton, 25, driving a Ford, beat Ward, 31, driving a Buick, by 1.68 seconds in a one-lap sprint to the finish set up by a late caution flag at Myrtle Beach Speedway.

Jeff Burton, winning for the fourth time in his career and first time this season, collected $25,150. He led the final 93 laps of the 250-lap race on the .538-mile track.

Joe Nemechek was third, Robert Pressley fourth and Steve Grissom fifth. All drove Chevrolets.

Rounding out the top 10 were Todd Bodine, Tracy Leslie, series point leader David Green, Roy Payne and Jim Bown.
