DEBT-RIDDEN OAKTON MAN SHOT TO DEATH

A builder who was shot to death was deeply in debt and had repeatedly told friends and relatives he feared he would be killed, a police spokesman said Saturday.

John Kowalczyk, 38, of Oakton, was shot once in the front of his head Thursday night while sitting in his pickup truck in the parking lot of an office building in Vienna, police said.

He was there to leave his 12-year-old son with his estranged wife, said Lt. John Cheyne, the Vienna police spokesman.
