OBIT POWELL, ANNIE GLASS

POWELL, Annie Glass, 100, of Salem, died Monday, June 14, 1993, in Salem, where she had lived for the last 10 years. She was a native and long-time resident of Halifax County and South Boston. She was a daughter of John W. and Mary Pool Glass, and was born December 21, 1892. She was married to the late Charles William Powell and was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Lawrence J. Powell and Benjamin W. Powell of Salem; and a daughter, Lois Powell Harris of South Boston, nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Emma McDowell of Farmville, N.C., Louise Johnson of Paeonian Springs, and Lizabeth Cockes of Elberon. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 15, 1993, at 2 p.m. in Oak Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Brown and the Rev. William Fulks conducting the service. The family will receive friends at the home of Dr. and Mrs. William B. Harris. Funeral arrangements are by Powell Funeral Home, Inc., 1603 Wilborn Avenue, South Boston, Va.
