OBIT WILLIAMS, JAMES EMMETT
WILLIAMS, James Emmett, 73, of Salem, died Sunday, June 13, 1993, in a
Salem Hospital. He was retired from Norfolk-Southern Railway and was a World
War II veteran. He is survived by his wife, Roma Sisson Williams; a son and
daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Phyllis Williams, Christiansburg; a daughter and
son-in-law, Mary Ann and Elmer (Buck) Shrader, Vinton; and a daughter, Becky
DeWeese of Roanoke; also surviving are his mother, Flora W. Williams, Roanoke;
two sisters, Hazel W. Tuck, Alexandria, and Maxine W. Taliaferro of Roanoke;
seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m.
Wednesday, June 16, at Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.
Richard Horne officiating. Burial will follow in the Piedmont Cemetery,
Shawsville. In lieu of flowers, contribuitions may be made to the Salem Rescue
Squad. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the
Richardson-Horne Funerla Home, Christiansburg.
