OBIT KEY, JESSIE TURNER
KEY, Jessie Turner, 92, of Bedford, passed away Sunday, June 13, 1993 in
the Campbell Rest Home. She was born October 9, 1900 in Bedford County, a
daughter of the late John Harrison Turner and Hessie Maxey Turner. She was
preceded in death by her husband, J. Clyde Key and a son, Former Governor John
Nichols Dalton. She was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church,
where she was a member of the Friendship Bible Class. She is survived by a
son, Jesse Clyde Key, Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Dottie Lou Updike Gallop,
Portsmouth; a sister, Katherine Turner Marechal, Roanoke; eight grandchildren;
14 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, June 15,
1993 at 2 p.m. from the Oakwood Cemetery by Dr. Carl H. Douglass Jr. Memorials
may be made to the Main Street United Methodist Church or the Bedford Life
Saving Crew. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home, Bedford.
