BURLEY FARMERS COULD BE DROPPED

Beginning with the 1994 burley tobacco crop, farms with no planted or considered-planted credit in at least two of the past three years will be dropped. Owners of farms with no burley tobacco planted credit in 1991 and 1992 may sell their quota by July 1 to avoid being dropped.

Farm owners with planting credit in either 1991 or 1992, but not both, must plant burley tobacco in 1993, receive considered planted credit in 1993 or sell the quota by July 1.
