OBIT SLOAN, FRED LESTER SR.

SLOAN, Fred Lester Sr., 61, of Roanoke, died Monday, June 14, 1993. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth L. Sloan; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary E. and Nelson Harper of Wirtz; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Fred L. Sloan Jr., Donald J. and Terry Sloan, Eddie Irvan, all of Roanoke; five brothers, Otho Crouch of Maryland, Jahugh Crouch, Aubrey Crouch, Gary Crouch, and Robert Crouch, all of Buchanan; six sisters, Mildred Markham of Pennsylvania, Betty Winn of Fredericksburg, Della Woodson of Eagle Rock, Patsy Cassel of Everett, Wash., Obera Crouch of Mullica Hill, N.J., Sue Hickman of Buchanan; three grandsons and one granddaughter. A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 17, 11 a.m. at the Rapps Mill Cemetery with the Rev. Chester L. Carter officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Rader Funeral Home, Buchanan.
