TRADITIONAL FAMILIES ARE NOT RADICALS

YOU DISCUSS in the June 9 editorial ("GOP taken over fair and square") the "radical right" at the Virginia Republican Convention. The majority attending were the traditional family - moms, dads, grandmoms and granddads, with lots of kids. Absent were the militant feminists who have brainwashed our society to look down upon stay-at-home moms who elect to nurture and care for their children. Also absent was the group that has tainted our nation's blood supply as a result of their deviant behavior. So, who are these "radicals"?

Mike Farris, the nominee for lieutenant governor, is a constitutional lawyer who has defended a family's right of educational choice, and parents' decisions as to what is right for their children. He didn't fight to ban the "Wizard of Oz." The Allen-Farris-Gilmore ticket is not specifically an advocate for home-schooling, but of educational choice. The Clintons and Mary Sue Terry want to take that right away.

I challenge voters to become informed and educated regarding the November election, because they certainly can't believe everything they read in the newspaper. STEPHEN B. MUNRO ROANOKE
