WRA Inc., a commuter airline that has offered service between Roanoke and Richmond for a year, said Wednesday it will lower its fare on the route July 15 to match the USAir Express' $99 one-way fare. WRA's one-way fare is now $150.
Chautauqua Airlines Inc., an independent airline operating as USAir Express, is set to start service between Roanoke, Richmond and Norfolk on July 7, using 19-seat Fairchild Metro III prop-jet aircraft.
Dawn Tucker, WRA spokeswoman, said the line runs a six-passenger twin-prop plane on the route, but plans to add an 18-passenger plane and increase its flights to three a day beginning July 12. - Staff report
