OBIT PILLOW, WILLIAM VANBUREN
PILLOW, William VanBuren, 72, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, June 16, 1993. He
was a retired mechanic from Blue Ridge Motors. Surviving are his wife of 50
years, Rachel Sink Pillow; a son and daughter-in-law, William H. (Billy) and
Phyllis (Wissie) Pillow, Richmond; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl P. and
Jim Skinner, Roanoke; a brother, Raymond Pillow, Baton Rouge, La.; his
sisters, Helen Sink, Salem, Juanita Lancaster, Roanoke, Phyllis Wyatt,
Scottsdale, Ariz., Martha Boeckman, Long Beach, N.Y.; his grandchildren,
Samuel H. Pillow, Brian W. and David N. Shockley. Funeral services will be
held at the graveside in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Friday, June 18, 1 p.m.,
with the Rev. Darryl Crim officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests
memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, in his memory. The family
will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's North
Chapel.
