The Ronald McDonald House will receive 10 cents for every Scott product UPC label dropped into designated containers at Roanoke-area McDonald's restaurants through June 30.
Labels may be taken from any Scott product: paper towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins and baby wipes.\
Schools to sponsor free meal program
Roanoke County public schools will provide meals during the summer at the Roanoke County Career Center, at 100 Highland Ave., Vinton.
Meals under the Summer Food Service Program will be free to all children.
Breakfast will be served from June 28 through Aug. 9 from 9 to 9:30 a.m., and lunch will be served from noon to 12:30 p.m.
Rotary Club member wins service award
Reid Jones Jr. has received the Service Above Self Award, the highest honor provided to a Rotarian by Rotary International.
A past president of the Rotary Club of Roanoke and a Rotarian since 1951, Jones is one of 91 Rotarians worldwide to win the award, which recognizes volunteers who embody the Rotary motto, "Service Above Self."
