WINN-DIXIE RECALLS CANNED PRODUCT

Winn-Dixie Stores are voluntarily recalling 144,000 cans of canned macaroni and beef because some may contain small pieces of hard plastic, the Agriculture Department said.

The recall of the Thrifty Maid Macaroni & Beef in Tomato Sauce covers 13 states, including Virginia.

The company began recalling the product after three customers complained about finding objects in the food. The product was made in Canada and sold only in Winn-Dixie stores, the U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service said. The recall covers all 15-ounce cans with the code "3015WN" on the lid. - Associated Press
