CHURCH VOTES TO OUST RECTOR FOR SEX LIAISONS

The leaders of a Hampton Episcopal church have voted to oust their rector after learning he admitted having sex with three women he was counseling while rector of a North Carolina church five years ago.

The Rev. Thomas Daily, 52, admitted the liaisons while rector of the Grace Episcopal Church in Morganton, N.C., according to a news release from the Diocese of Southern Virginia.

Members of the vestry of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church voted to oust Daily because he did not tell them of the incidents when he took the job with the Hampton church three years ago.

Daily, an Episcopal clergyman for nearly 20 years, is married and has three children.
