WYTHE COUPLE DIED OF INJURIES FROM CAR CRASH

Autopsies have confirmed that a Wythe County couple found Tuesday in the wreckage of their car died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Paul Freeman, 85, and Rebecca Freeman, 76, had been missing for a week before their car was spotted at the bottom of a 60-foot ravine off U.S. 11 near the western border of Wytheville.

Dr. William Massello said their deaths were caused by multiple injuries.

The autopsy did not reveal whether Rebecca Freeman, who was driving, might have had a medical problem that led to the accident.
