OBIT STINNETT, LOIS IKENBERRY
STINNETT, Lois Ikenberry, 89, of Buchanan, died Wednesday, June 16, 1993.
She was a native of Daleville and the daughter of the late Benjamin Riley and
Idonia Layman Ikenberry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Malcolm
S. Stinnett. She was a graduate of the Daleville Academy and Bridgewater
College and taught school in Eagle Rock and Buchanan. She was an elder of the
Buchanan Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the choir and taught
Sunday school classes for over 50 years. She was also active in many civic
organizations. She is survived by a son, Donald Stinnett, Buchanan; two
daughters, Phyllis Stinnett, Alexandria, Jane Gibson, Oakton; one brother,
Justice Ikenberry, Salem; three grandchildren, Donna Judd, Roanoke, David
Stinnett, Richmond, Laura Stinnett, Johnson City, Tenn.; four
great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 19,
1993, at 11 a.m. at the Buchanan Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Fleet
Powell, and the Rev. William Pugh officiating. Interment will follow in
Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, June 18, from 7 to
9 p.m. at the Rader Funeral Home, Buchanan.
