OBIT SISSON, EUGENIA HALE
SISSON, Eugenia Hale ("Jeany"), 70, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, June
16, 1993. Mrs. Sisson was a native of Floyd, Va., and a long time resident of
Roanoke County. She was a retired employee of Kroger Company and after
retirement, Mrs. Sisson devoted many hours of volunteer work to the Veterans
Hospital, Salem, where she attended chapel services. She was predeceased by
her husband, Cleatis R. Sisson Sr. She was a very devoted mother and big mom
to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by one son and
daughter-in-law, Cleatis R. ("Reggie") Sisson Jr. and wife, Mary Ann of
Roanoke; two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Lou and Steve Henry, Roanoke,
Janie Lynn and Ronnie Feury, Salem; two sisters, Iva Mae Ray and Glendola
Pauline Howery, Roanoke; one brother and sister-in-law, William Lee Hale and
Dianne Hale, Bland; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral
services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel, 3 p.m. Friday, June 18,
with Chaplin George Hamilton and Chaplin Cecil Irwin officiating. Burial will
be in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel
where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
