NORTH WAS NOT FOUND INNOCENT

YOUR RECENT news article on Oliver North quoted the wannabe U.S. senator as saying the media hated him because they refused to recognize the court had found him "innocent."

You don't have to be in the media to realize there is a big difference in a jury finding a criminal defendant innocent and having jury convictions - for lying to Congress, receiving illegal gratuities from arms dealers in violation of federal law, and altering, destroying and concealing documents - overturned on a technicality.

North is hardly innocent. I hope most Virginians recognize the difference. MARK R. GRAHAM ABINGDON
