SMILEY-FLYNN

Marie Stokes Flynn and Warren Danford Smiley, Jr., were married Friday evening, February 26, 1993, at 6:00 p.m. at Grace Baptist Temple. The reception was held after the ceremony at the church.

Pastor Jim Harrison, Pastor of First Wesleyan Church, Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, performed the ceremony. The maid of honor was Elizabeth Joy Flynn, daughter of the bride. The bridesmaids were Leah Marie Flynn, daughter of the bride, and Gina Marie Smiley, daughter of the groom. The bride was escorted to the altar by her son, Andrew Stokes Flynn. Christopher Jack Smiley was his father's best man. The guest book was attended by Linda Elizabeth Jenkins, niece of the groom. The acolytes were Charles Stephen Alligood and Warren Longsworth Jenkins, brother-in-law and nephew of the groom, respectively. The soloist was Beth Ash, wife of Pastor David Ash, Assistant Pastor of First Wesleyan Church. Bonnie Smiley Alligood, sister of the groom, served as coordinator of the wedding.

The bride is the daughter of Elizabeth Stokes and the late Clarence Stokes of Easton, Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Easton Area High School, Easton, Pennsylvania, and served four years in the United States Air Force. Mrs. Smiley is a graduate of Virginia Western Community College, and is employed by the City of Salem Engineering Department.

The groom is the son of Mary Linda Malcolm Smiley and the late Warren Danford Smiley, Sr. He is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and Emory and Henry College. Mr. Smiley is employed by Penske Truck Leasing Company.

After the wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the newlyweds will make their home in Salem, Virginia.
