EARNHARDT COVERAGE LACKING

Come on, guys! I want to know what [Dale] Earnhardt has to do to get a decent picture in your paper.

He just came through with his third win in a row (June 6, Dover, Del.). He did this after coming back two times from a lap down. This win by itself deserved better coverage than you gave him, but that's not all there was - he now has a very good points lead over everyone else.

When someone tames the "monster mile," they deserve a big picture and a good write-up too.

Anyone will tell you that whenever someone can race hard and win big, they deserve better coverage than was given Earnhardt.

Last week (May 30-June 4), your race coverage was poor, too. The write-up and picture were pitiful. Stop underplaying these terrific wins Earnhardt has been coming up with and give him the fan coverage he deserves.

You don't mind [publishing] letters from all the crybabies who don't like Earnhardt and are upset about what went on in The Winston.

Earnhardt tamed the "monster mile" at Dover. That deserved a picture. BARBARA McDANIEL RADFORD
