POST 3 NORTH ROUTS GILES COUNTY 18-2

Former Northside High School star Ben Taylor hit 3-for-5 with a three-run triple and five RBI as Roanoke Post 3 North trounced Giles County 18-2 on Saturday in an American Legion baseball game in Blacksburg.

Post 3 North (1-0) had several other big hitters. Second team All-Timesland infielder Chris Carr went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and Doug Monday and Donnie Meador each added two RBI.

Keith Bryant threw a five-hitter and struck out nine as the Roanoke team held Giles County (3-1) to two unearned runs.
