UVA BEST IN STATE COMPETITION

The University of Virginia won .662 percent of its Division I intercollegiate athletic contests in 1992-93 to finish first in the annual Virginia Sports Information Directors Association survey for the fifth consecutive year.

The Cavaliers led all 10 Division I schools in women's winning percentage (.703) and all 11 Division I schools in men's percentage (.615). Old Dominion was second in women's sports (.639), while Virginia Commonwealth was second in men's percentages (.611).

Virginia Tech finished fourth in the overall standings (.616). Radford placed 10th (.480), followed by VMI (.374).

The 15th annual survey includes only those sports with NCAA-sponsored championships.
