OBIT HEMPHILL, CLYDE OWEN

HEMPHILL, Clyde Owen, 80, of Salem, died Saturday, June 19, 1993, at Camelot Hall in Salem. He was the son of C.F. and Nonia Sims Hemphill of Crown City, Ohio. He was retired from Ford Motor Company in Huntington, W.Va. He was a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church and Royal Arch Chapter #10 and Western Star Lodge #11 A.F. & A.M. of Guyandotte, W.Va., O.E.S. Chapter 161 of Salem and American Legion Post #3 of Salem. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary H. Hemphill of Salem; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Bob Gothard, Simpsonville, S.C., Judy and Del Bradshaw, Salem; a special niece, Laura Ratzlaff, Citrus Heights, Calif.; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 21, 1993, at 2 p.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Nelson Harris officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the Lotz Salem Chapel. An Eastern Star Service will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel. Taylor Lodge #23 of Salem, A.F. & A.M. will conduct graveside services.
