OBIT FOGLESONG, HARRY N.
FOGLESONG, Harry N., of 701 N. Jefferson Ave. Pulaski, passed away
Saturday, June 19, 1993, in Pulaski Community Hospital. He was a graduate of
Emory and Henry College and George Peabody College of Washville, Tenn. He was
Supervisor of Sunflower Ordnance Works in Sunflower, Kan. for a number of
years, but worked primarily in education. He taught in Arlington County, was
Principal of Rocky Gap High School, Assistant Principal of Richlands High
School and Principal of Giles High School. He was Assistant Supervisor of
Secondary Education for the State Dept. of Education in Richmond prior to
becoming Director of Instruction for Pulaski County Schools. Following his
retirement he focused on beef cattle operation on his farms in Bland and
Campbell Counties. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church,
Pulaski, Kiwanis Club, New River Valley Fine Arts Center, a member of the
Pulaski Zoning Board of appeals, and the Virginia Agriculture Committee. He is
survived by his wife, Ruth; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald `Kitty` Hardt,
Midlothian, and Betty L. Foglesong, Richmond. Funeral services will be held
Monday, June 21, at 2 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church with Rev.
Jack Weikel and Rev. Ty Harrison officiating. Entombment will follow in
Birchlawn Abbey Mausoleum, Pearisburg, Va. The family suggests in lieu of
flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the First
United Methodist Church, or the charity of choice. Visiting will be any time
after noon Sunday, and the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. at
Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home.
