OBIT JEWELL, MILDRED RUSS
JEWELL, Mildred Russ, age 92, of Buena Vista, died Wednesday, June 16,
1993, in Stonewall Jackson Hospital. She was born in Russell, Ky. on November
29, 1900, the daughter of the late Freeman Russ and Emma Smith Russ Glass. She
was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Garland R. Jewell. She was a
member of the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by
three daughters, Mae J. McCaul, Vancouver, Wash., Dorothy J. Hare, Buena
Vista, Eva Taylor, Christiansburg; two sons, Melton R. Jewell, Greensboro,
N.C., James T. Jewell, Buena Vista; ten grandchildren, sixteen
great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will
be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church with
the Rev. David Bain and Rev. Odell Humphries officiating. Burial will follow
in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
