OBIT RORRER, ROBERT EUGENE
RORRER, Robert Eugene, 48, of the Four-R-Farm of Floyd, formerly of
Coalwood, W.Va., passed away Saturday, June 19, 1993. He was born in Radford
on December 19, 1944. He was a 1966 graduate of Concord College in Athens,
W.Va. He served three years in the United States Army and one year in the
United States First Calvary Infantry in Vietnam from 1968 until 1969. He was
employed by the United States Department of the Treasury for the past 19
years. He is survived by his wife, Janet Carroll Rorrer of Floyd; one daughter
and son-in-law, J. Lynne and Michael Metzler of Floyd; two sons and one
daughter-in-law, Barry L. and Kaye Rorrer of Floyd, and Brian D. Rorrer of
Floyd; his parents, Ervin and Lake Rorrer of Floyd; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn
Metzler and David Metzler, both of Floyd; his father-in-law, Ernest Carroll of
Coalwood, W.Va. Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 22, 1993, at 11 a.m. at
Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Spradling officiating.
Interment will be in Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends
from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday evening at Gardner Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the Floyd County Rescue Squad.
