OBIT ARRINGTON, EDISON B.
ARRINGTON, Edison B., 74, ("Johnny"), of Troutville, passed away Monday,
June 21, 1993. He was a veteran of World War II, past president of American
Legion Post #248, past president of the Roanoke Valley Independent Insurance
Association, and part owner of the former Sigmon Brothers Real Estate Agency.
He was the last surviving charter member of the Vinton First Aid Crew. He is
survived by his wife, Jewel Arrington, Troutville; a daughter, Kay
Grundkowski; a son, David Arrington, both of Roanoke; also three brothers and
sister-in-law, William (Dick) and Myrtle Arrington, Vinton, Clarence (Dap)
Arrington, Roanoke, Ralph Arrington, Dugspur; three sisters, Gladys Arrington,
Lynchburg, Ruth Helms, Saluda Baldwin, both of Vinton; a sister-in-law, Maude
Arrington, Roanoke; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at
Oakey's Vinton Chapel, Thursday, June 24 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James E.
Rivers officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Friends may call
at Oakey's Vinton Chapel after 9 a.m. Wednesday, where the family will receive
friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
