OBIT SEIBEL, SYLVIA NADINE
SEIBEL, Sylvia Nadine, 86, of Vinton, died Monday, June 21, 1993, in a
local hospital. Mrs. Seibel was born October 24, 1906, in Cincinnatus, N.Y.,
the daughter of Deat and Mattie Harrington. She was the widow of John G.
Seibel. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John D. and Hallie
Seibel of Eagle Rock, George H. and Myrtle (Cookie) Seibel of Bonsack; four
daughters and sons-in-law, Lenore (Sybil) and Thomas J. (Jerry) King Jr. of
Birmingham, Ala., Martha (Lou) and James K. (Corky) Rader of Bonsack, Virginia
(Ginny) and Edward Keith of Roanoke, Betsy and Lewis Hoback of Vinton; one
brother, Warner G. Harrington of Cincinnatus, N.Y.; 20 grandchildren; 17
great-grandchildren. Mrs. Seibel was a member of Bonsack United Methodist
Church and was active in the United Methodist Women for many years. She has
been involved in the Bonsack Senior Citizens Group since it was organized -
especially as a quilter. Mrs. Seibel and her family operated the Josylvia Farm
and Seibel Brothers Farm Equipment Company on US 460 prior to her retirement.
Funeral services will be conducted from Bonsack United Methodist Church at 1
p.m. Thursday, June 24 with the Rev. John Ashley officiating. Interment will
be in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
that donations be made to the Bonsack United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel between the hours of 7 to 9 Tuesday
and Wednesday evenings.
