OBIT KEATTS, JENNIE OAKES

KEATTS, Jennie Oakes, 90, of Rt. 2, Penhook, died Monday morning, June 21, 1993, in Eldercare of Franklin County. Mrs. Keatts was the widow of Thomas Keatts and was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Edmond Keatts. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Lois Keatts, Penhook; six daughters and sons-in-law, Ola and Wesley Matthews, Nera and Douglas Bernard, all of Penhook, Lucille and Ben Kirk, Rocky Mount, Mildred and Jimmie Gunter, Fieldale, Ella and Gem Kendrick, Penhook, Shirley and Carroll Kirk, Bassett; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Keatts, Martinsville; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Annie Tucker; a very special friend, Hazel Pagans, Penhook. Funeral services will be conducted at Forrest Hill Christian Church 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. J. D. Hunt III officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service, 342 South Main St., Rocky Mount, and other times at the home of Ella and Gem Kendrick.
