HOSTS GROUP COMMISSIONS REGIONAL TOURISM MAP

A regional tourism map for the New River Valley is being planned and a consultant has been hired to oversee the publication of the third edition of a booklet to promote the valley.

New River Valley HOSTS has contracted with Kelly Page Clark of Page One Media Services, Blacksburg, for the new edition of "Guide to Virginia's New River Valley."

It will feature information on Montgomery, Giles, Floyd and Pulaski counties and Radford, plus color photos.

The earlier editions have been popular with travelers and tourist-related businesses and serve as the major marketing tool for HOSTS.

Page One Media Services will do the new tourism map, featuring attractions and locations of things to do and see in the region.

Businesses and tourist services can advertise in one or both of the publications. A special price will be made available to those choosing both, and tourist-related businesses that are members of HOSTS will get ad discounts.

Plans call for printing 200,000 copies of the guide for free distribution throughout the state and in nearby states. Page One Media Services, which now publishes ArtBeat of the New River Valley magazine, will sell the advertising space to cover the costs of the guide and map.
