E&H NAMES NOVELIST ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

A teacher who wrote a novel for his doctoral dissertation has been named assistant professor of English at Emory & Henry College.

Brian C. Russo got his doctoral degree from the University of Cincinnati this month. His novel, "On the Fourth Day of the Sixth Moon," drew on his living and teaching in the Far East as a Princeton-in-Asia Teaching Fellow in Indonesia during 1983-85 and being a faculty exchange participant at the University of China in 1987-89.

He has also written several short plays and acted with the Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati. His teaching duties start in late August.
