HOLLINS HAS LECTURE SERIES FOR CHILDREN

Hollins College offers many free lectures and readings this summer as part of its children's literature graduate program.

Friday, writer Eleanor Cameron will present ``The Seed and the Vision: Childhood and the Writer to Come'' at 8:15 p.m. in Babcock Auditorium.

Fulbright visiting professor Walter Sauer will present ``A 19th-Century Children's Book in Political Disguise: Struwwelpeter Parodies 1849-Present'' June 28 at 8:15 p.m. in Babcock Auditorium.

A student and faculty reading will be held June 30 and July 21 at 1 p.m. in Janney Lounge of the Moody Center.

July 6, ``Children's Opera'' a video, lecture and performance by Hollins alumna and Opera Delaware conductor Evelyn Swensson will be presented at 8:15 p.m. in Babcock Auditorium.

On July 13, author and illustrator Susan Roth will present ``Writing, Illustrating, Publicizing, Marketing: How One Person Does It All and Still Has Time for Tea.'' Her lecture will be at 8:15 p.m. in Babcock Auditorium.

The last lecture will be July 26 at 8:15 p.m. in Babcock Auditorium by University of Minnesota professor Jack Zipes. He will present ``A Second Look at the Trials and Tribulations of Little Red Riding Hood.''
