CHAUTAUQUA FESTIVAL CONTINUES IN WYTHEVILLE

The ninth annual Wytheville Chautauqua Festival enters its last three days today with various free events open to all.

A program of fairy tales will be held today at 11 a.m., 2 and 4:30 p.m.; and a dance program by the High Country Stompers, Southern Pride Express and Heart of Dixie Cloggers will be at 6 p.m. Illusionist Eddie Armbrister performs at 8 p.m. and Four of a Kind, a musical group from Greenville, S.C., at 9:30 p.m.

Highlights Saturday include the Captain Rainbow Imagination Show at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., Theatre IV's production of "The Little Red Hen" at noon and 3:30 p.m., the Sweet Adelines singing at 5 p.m. and Irish balladeer Frank Emerson at 6 p.m.

The concluding Saturday performance will be by country music recording artist Shelly West at 9 p.m.

Performers Sunday include a brother/sister team, Wytheville natives Deborah Jones Kemper and Daniel M. Jones, playing the flute and trumpet at 1 p.m.; the 19-member Classic "Klickers" Clogging Team at 3 p.m.; gospel tunes by The Hoppers at 4 p.m.; and the traditional final performance at 9 p.m. by the Wytheville Community College Concert Band.

Art, crafts, food and other items are available for sale. The activities center around the Elizabeth Brown Memorial Park.
