OBIT RUCKER, ARTHUR JAMES

RUCKER, Arthur James, 73, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, June 21, 1993. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Leander Rucker, Roanoke; three daughters, Vivian Eloise Smith, and husband, George T., Fort Washington, Md., Leontine Thornhill, Atlanta, Ga., Sharon J. Rucker, Roanoke; one brother, Rev. William C. Rucker, and wife, Alice, Eastville; sisters-in-law, Mamie L. Cheatwood, Elizabeth Thomas, and husband, Hershel, all of Roanoke, Elanora Rucker, West Virginia; two nieces; seven nephews; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., Hamlar-Curtis Chapel with Rev. E.T. Burton officiating with burial in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
