HARRISON MUSEUM GETS 2 GRANTS

The Harrison Museum of African Culture in Roanoke has received two grants from the Institute of Museum Services in Washington, D.C.

The Museum Assessment Program I grant of $3,000 will help the museum review its status, reassess how programs and operations reflect its purpose and make decisions to allocate resources more effectively.

The Conservation Assessment Program is a non-competitive grant of $8,000 to conduct general conservation assessments of the museum's site and collections. It provides an overview of all of the museum's collections and environmental conditions, as well as its policies and procedures relating to collections care.
