ADOPTIVE FAMILIES CONFERENCE

Much ado about adoption will take place during Adoptive Families of America's national conference, June 25-June 27, in Winston-Salem, N.C.

AFA, the nation's largest support organization for adoptive and prospective adoptive families, plans to offer more than 100 workshops ranging from making the decision to adopt to special presentations geared to overseas and intercultural adoptions. Experienced adoptive parents and representatives from numerous adoption agencies and organizations will give talks and answer individual questions.

Registration is $75 per person or $110 per parenting couple and includes conference attendance and instructional materials. Discount hotel rooms and airfares also are available. For information or to register, call AFA at (612) 535-4829.

The six-month old Roanoke-based Blue Ridge Adoption Group is planning several informal car pools to the conference. For information on the group or on ride sharing, call BRAG president Janet Scheid at 890-5813.
